Skyrail has two terminals, one in Smithfield (Cairns), and the other in Kuranda. You have the option to commence your Skyrail journey from either the Smithfield (Cairns) or Kuranda station. Most visitors will start their journey at the Skyrail Smithfield Terminal.

  • By Bus: Skyrail currently operates a regular bus service from selected points in Cairns City. Please check for pick-up locations and schedules.
  • By Shuttle: If you plan to drive and combine both the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the Kuranda Scenic Railway, a one-way bus transfer will automatically be included in your booking for a seamless experience.
  • By Guided Tour: Many guided tours offer the convenience of hotel pick-up and drop-off services. Wheelchair Access: Skyrail ensures accessibility for all. The cableway can pause for easy boarding and disembarking from gondolas with assistance. Ramps and wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available.

Wheelchair Requirements: To use Skyrail with a personal wheelchair, please ensure it meets the following criteria:

  • Width: Not exceeding 630mm.
  • Length: Not exceeding 950mm.
  • Capability to tilt backward (raise front wheels) for loading onto the gondola.
  • Combined weight of the wheelchair and occupant must be manageable for operator-assisted loading.
  • Handles for easy lifting into the gondolas.

Bus Transfers: Personal wheelchairs can’t be taken on Skyrail bus transfers. If you want to use the bus transfer, please notify Skyrail for suitable alternatives.
